The various chapters and conclusions in this year''s report also feature the most important statistics taken from the first report (1989) so as to allow readers to make comparisons over the ten-year period. We ourselves have simply used these statistics to look at the development of the world stone industry and the process of globalisation which has taken place over this period. Tha same statistics may also be used for more specific assessments as regards the various parameters which have been regular features of this report.
